With over 20 years of culinary excellence, Chef Sanjeev Kumar - Founder and Director of Culinary Operations at Chamkila Caterers - leads our kitchen with unmatched expertise and a deep passion for preserving and celebrating hidden regional Indian flavors. His journey starting as a young rural boy helping his mother and grandma in the kitchen to making langar parshad in Gurudwara's at the age of 10, reflects a perfect blend of innovation, tradition, and an unwavering commitment to authenticity.

Chef Sanjeev’s achievements speak for themselves. He earned 1st prize at the National Culinary Art Competition at Amrapali Institute in 2009, followed by a Silver Medal at AAHAR in 2012 and a Gold Medal in 2013 for his outstanding work in regional Indian cuisine. His leadership in organizing acclaimed food festivals, including a notable Punjabi Food Festival in 2013, earned him formal recognition and a letter of appreciation.

Certified in Food and Beverage Safety and Hygiene by Singapore’s Workforce Skills Qualifications, Chef Sanjeev combines technical mastery with cultural depth. His culinary events have drawn widespread media coverage, with features in Danik Bhaskar, Danik Savera, Jag Margh, Yug margh, Ajit, and over 20 television news channels.

From hosting Lost Recipes of India sessions to overseeing VIP and large-scale events—such as a 5,000-guest celebration for Mr. Rajendra Majithia, Director of Urmin Group—Chef Sanjeev Kumar has consistently delivered excellence. His collaborations include working with Mr. Narendra Somani of The Grand Bhagwati Group and serving as Advisory Chef for NTPL, creating exceptional dining experiences for global dignitaries.

Message from Chef

Passion and food, this is the recipe that fueled my desire to craft a career in the food industry. At the tender age of four, in a playschool activity, I innocently painted the phrase “Chef Sanjeev” on a piece of cloth and it was in that moment that it struck me in becoming a chef and that I realized I would aspire to be a chef. Since then, I grew up spending time in the kitchen and watching Sunday cookery shows like Daawat, Khana Khazana, Zaike ka Safar etc helping my mother and my grandmother in the kitchen cutting vegetables or simply looking at what they were cooking……..
